FanDuel Sportsbook to Pay Out Futures Early on Team USA

June 28, New York, NJ — FanDuel is all in on the U.S. Women’s National Team, who are set to take on France today in the quarterfinals of the Women’s World Cup.  Patriotism is at an all time high and the experts at the FanDuel Sportsbook believe that Team USA will not only take down France on their home turf, but will also eventually win the 2019 World Cup.  Today, the FanDuel Sportsbook is showing its Red, White and Blue support for the U.S Women’s National Soccer Team by paying out Team USA future wagers early on the Women’s World Cup.

For online and mobile customers in New Jersey who placed a wager at the FanDuel Sportsbook on Team USA to be the last team standing at the end of the Women’s World Cup, FanDuel paid out those future wagers this morning before today’s match against France. The wagers were paid out as winners, meaning customers received money for their bet as if the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team had won the entire tournament.

“We are paying out our customers early so they can just enjoy the game and not worry about advancing,” said John Sheeran, Director of Risk and Trading for FanDuel Group.  “All across America fans are supporting Team USA and showing their excitement at home, at work, and on social media, so we wanted to share our Team USA excitement and pride with our customers.”

The FanDuel Sportsbook paid out $400,000 to customers who placed wagers on Team USA to win the Women’s World Cup.  Online customers were paid out before Team USA’s match against France.  Any future wagers placed on Team USA after 11 AM ET on June 28th do not qualify for an early payout.

For today’s match against France, the FanDuel Sportsbook will have an Odds Boost on Alex Morgan to score the first goal boosted from +400 to +500 (max bet of $50) and a separate boost on Megan Rapinoe to score the first goal boosted from +330 to +650 (Max bet $50) .  Team USA is currently -154 to qualify for the next round.  At the start of the Women’s World Cup, Team USA was +350 to win the tournament and were joint favorites with France (Team USA is now +150).  Overall, Team USA has been very popular representing 85% of bets and 90% of handle to win the World Cup at the FanDuel Sportsbook.  If our traders are incorrect about the superiority of Team USA and they fail to win the World Cup, FanDuel will payout all wagers on the winning team as per usual.

FanDuel Group has also been celebrating Team USA in the World Cup by donating  $1,000 to the Women’s Sports Foundation (WSF) for every goal Team USA scores during the tournament, in addition to a $10,000 initial donation.  The WSF is a powerful voice, catalyst and convener dedicated to ensuring all girls and women have equal access to sports and physical activity, and the tremendous life-long benefits they provide.
