Earlier this month, we introduced Friends Mode, our new season-long fantasy product. Today, we are excited to share that Friends Mode is now live on desktop and mobile, just in time for the 2016-2017 football season. Friends Mode brings the best of season-long fantasy to the daily format, giving users the ability to play against friends and family every week of the NFL season, choosing the weeks they want to play.
The launch of Friends Mode comes on the heels of our brand redesign and the roll out a number of new product features and site improvements, including beginner contests, experienced player labels and a user Bill of Rights.
Beginning today, all users will see a “Friends” tab in the FanDuel lobby on desktop and mobile. Within this mode, users can create and join leagues with their friends and family. Features include:
– Easy Commissioner Tools: On Friends Mode, it is easier than ever to be commissioner. Commissioners start a league by giving it a name and picture, creating one contest upfront by setting the parameters (entry fee and contests size) and inviting friends and family to join with an invite link. Once the league is created, a weekly contest is auto-created for that private group. The commissioner also has the option to edit contest size, entry amount and payout structure any given week.
– Flexibility: Users can join a league at any time throughout the season and enter contests on a week-to-week basis, choosing the weeks they want to participate.
– Weekly Prizes: Every week is an opportunity to win. On Friends Mode, winners are rewarded each week, instead of once at the end of the season.
– League Leaderboard: Like season-long fantasy, each league will feature a leaderboard to track standings all season, showing the top five scores throughout the season.
